Throughout his career, Dontrese has led various teams from a creative and professional development perspective. He is passionate about brand and the business of design, building empathetic narratives, and advancing racial equity through social justice instigation. Most recently, Dontrese co-launched Hidden In Plain Site: Richmond, a VR exploration of distinct, but easy to overlook sites around Richmond, VA that tell the story of the Black experience throughout Richmond’s history. He also led the historical movement and initiative to re-name the Boulevard to Arthur Ashe Boulevard for the City of Richmond, VA, as well as leading the vision to make Cristo Rey Richmond High School (CRRHS) a reality for the under-served youth of the Richmond communities.
Mr. Brown is the Executive Director of the EDGE Center for Career Development at Randolph-Macon College. He is on the board of directors for CRRHS, The O’Brien Foundation, the Dominion Energy Innovation Center, BridgePark RVA and UrbanHope. Dontrese is a member of the Leadership Metro Richmond 2020 Cohort, the Ujima Legacy Fund, and earned graphic design degrees from Georgetown College (B.F.A.), Morehead State University (M.A.), and Savannah College of Art & Design (M.F.A.).
