Unplug
your
chargers
(PDAs,
cell
phones,
digital
cameras,
etc.)
when not in use. |

Use power strips to switch off television, stereos, etc. when not in use. |

Enable the “sleep mode” feature on your computer, allowing it to use less power during periods of inactivity. |
|
Configure your computer to “hibernate” automatically after 30 minutes or so of inactivity. |
|
Log
off & shut
down at the end of the day. |
|
During the summer, raise your thermostat to 78 degrees or more. |
|
During the winter, set your thermostat to 68 degrees or less. |
|
Cleaning
and replacing a/c filters often
allows the system to run
more efficiently. |
|
Don't preheat or “peek” inside the oven more than necessary. |
|
Wash only full loads in the dishwasher. |
|
Set the appropriate water level for the size of each load in
the clothes washer. |
|
Clean the lint filter in the dryer after each use. |
|
Don't forget to flick the switch when you leave a room. |
